It's a bit... cryptic 🤭
Top is elliptic curve scheme of choice for bitcoin, and bottom is analogous thing for monero (happen to be reading about it; don't worry I haven't gone to the dark side!)
Technically, from what I understand so far, latter is superior in a few ways, though less battle tested.
