And just to be even handed, this applies to Android as well. The super simplistic windowing and file systems WERE a huge improvement, for basic consumer tasks. It was a great UX! But as we're maturing and using these devices for everything, we're understanding that it's a rathy tiny sandbox. The two biggest issues are text editing (poorly copied from desktop) and siloed file system. I've written about this at:
