- turn on "Allow Calls on Other Devices" on the iPhone
- log both devices into the same iCloud and FaceTime account
- register and verify an email address with your iCloud account
- set your Mac's "Start new calls from:" to an email address rather than your phone number
- click on a tel:// URL on the mac,
