I have a material science question that just popped-up this week. Specifically, could years of prolonged exposure to air conditioning cold air and humidity cause a 100% cotton curtain to disintegrate in the laundry? This just happened to a set of curtains, but only to the panel directly over a window air conditioner, not those to the side of it. Never seen anything like it.
