Sometimes the feeling I get about the future of the UK is that we have been an economic sponge that has been going through the process of being finally wrung out over the last decades before being thrown in to the dustbin of history.
Once any remaining value has been drained out of the country by whatever means we will be left picking up the pieces while the rapacious agents of our problems move on to focus more closely on another victim.
But, then I wonder whether I just need a bit more sleep
