I'm thinking of how to set up my personal computer one last time in my life by going all in on using a VM that lives on an external ssd. The idea is that if I ever get a new computer or switch between two laptops, I just plug my ssd in and get access to the same VM with all my software, files etc.
Is this realistic? Has anyone ever tried it? Or how do you solve this challenge?
