A reprint of the first piece from the late 1950s. A very luxurious combination of motifs, with a dog sled on the sleeve and a lightning bolt and polar bear on the chest. Alaska, with its great natural beauty, is called ``America's last frontier,'' and that message is also embroidered at the bottom.
The reversible side features motifs unique to Alaska, including the state flag, Mt. McKinley, and totem poles. In the 1950s, this work was produced by Kosho (the predecessor of Taylor Toyo) upon request from the U.S. military, and was displayed at the PX (commissary) inside the Alaska base.
