Where is the big bitcoin art?
(This is a genuine question, if you’ve seen it please send me links).
Bitcoin people are very passionate about the ideas they share and solutions they see. Art is a human need to express and communicate experiences and feelings bigger than words.
So where is the big bitcoin art?
The Art that would express:
- Hope, the new light in the dark night of despair
- The awe in the face of profound realisations
- The urge for change so strong it would stir the current of history
This is the level of emotion I get from people talking about bitcoin and this is the depth of experience I am looking for in bitcoin art.
There are very exciting visuals, there is some representation of ideas. There is a healthy dose of craftsmanship and concept art that is obviously natural in the movement that values proof of work.
But I can’t see art that speaks to the soul, to the core of human experience in the face of this new big thing.
It might be only my soul that’s not moved, art is subjective after all. And that’s ok.
But there is something striking in that mismatch between the level of intensity in ideas on one side and artistic output on the other.
It makes me think that maybe bitcoin at its core is not a human invention after all.
