the West had very robust immigration laws up until the 60s! Australia lost their at the same time as USA. We went from a penal colony to one of the best countries in the world in 100 years, and kept that up until multiculturalism and inflation.
USA had trouble with Marxism and central bankers early 20th century
I don't think the founding fathers ever envisioned us allowing anything but Caucasian Christians as citizens. I think it was an oversight for them not to specify this
