A little known side effect of climate change, specifically affecting valleys and high wind areas.
As systems with opposing pressure grow more extreme, wind will also become more extreme in attempt to balance out that gap between pressure systems.
We just experienced that in Ouray, CO when a cold front moved in. We had winds ~70+mph, the highest I've seen since I lived here.
Most houses here are built to withstand high winds, but only to a point.
