Hive mind: I want to generate random notes that sound ok as a melody.
Does anyone have any good references on techniques to do this?
My initial attempt to just pick a major scale and play random notes isn't a real winner. (Unsurprisingly)
Should I preference particular note intervals? Use a pentatonic scale? Some sort of Markov chain?
I have zero music theory background :)
Doing a search gets lots of LLM/ AI rubbish, which is not how I want to go.
