In Damus account edit, the user is automatically entered upon verification, hence why username isn’t present for some. I assume other clients request the username to be entered before the “@‘. Are you using a client other than Damus?
I don’t believe Damus currently has proper implementation of NIP-05 anyway.
Please correct me if I’m wrong anyone
