I saw a one-woman play that I think this opera might've been based on. It was actually a very radical piece of theater.
I'm a Christian Pacifist Socialist & from where I sat, watching the proud soldier gradually sickened by the moral injury of her 'work' & trying not to let that impact her family was deeply troubling for anyone with a heart.
I can only hope that the opera has the same impact
