I think 2019 was a big turning point.
Probably foreigners leaving and country closing for extended COVID was a crucible to distill a lot of what came in the last 40 years back into something that looked like China.
It’s been interesting to watch what people are interested in enough to spend their money. There is a big shift in tastes and emphasis on things that reflect local culture.
