I appreciate steaming music services for aiding in music discovery, but I’ve had one too many albums or tracks rendered “not available” to trust them as my de facto music library. I started buying CDs and digital albums 15 years ago to build my library. If you really want to support artists, I think places like Bandcamp is great. Granted, I tend to listen to a lot of stuff off the beaten path, so many of the artists I listen to can be found on there.
