What interests me most so far with streaming isn't the total number of interactions but the number of repeat visitors. I'm happy to report that for a little crew of 6 to 10 people have made it a part of their daily routine and that's very cool. I've always been more niche than mainstream but I know I'm not alone in that. If people come back everyday I must be doing something right.

The idea only happened late summer and I've been bumbling along, learning all the things that require learning, making mistakes along the way.

I remain consistent with massive improvements since I got the new router and broadband running, with luck to withstand a reasonable amount of traffic.

I'm a big fan of ephemeral experiences, sometimes becoming frozen in time, only should the listener chose to record (like in the days of cassettes and radio). Maybe this is a very Gen X thing to do? That's cool, I'm in Gen X. Anyway, it means shows will rarely be recorded and will be in the moment, based on vibe.

That's a long way of saying each stream is it's own unique moment that I'm not paying to have stored anywhere. It routes zia Zap Stream but the majority on interaction is on my own platform, which I self host.

Again, I'm just reporting this as a music maker trying to find their way through a new digital paradigm, remaining self sovereign and in control of my data as best I can. It's indie, deliberately very lofi production but the music is always very good.

If that sounds of interest. I'm on every weekday 07:00 UTC at https://stream.mxtthxw.art with full track listings up at https://tracklisting.mxtthxw.art

The only platforms I use are Nostr, self hosted Fediverse instances, Bandcamp (and other direct sales platforms that enable listeners to support artists directly).

Up for doing things differently.
