Performance is slightly worse on Linux if your hardware sucks.
Are you gonna run actual 1.12 or WoW Classic? I think Classic runs better because it will take advantage of modern hardware and APIs. 1.12 on linux will look shitty since it's OpenGL instead of DirectX.
