Certain physical arrangements more easily lead to a desired thing happening. When heat is desired, the energy from burning wood is more accessible than the energy from dropping a rock off a mountain.
Food Energy
The things we want to do with our bodies (sensing, thinking, moving, etc.) require energy in the form of food.
Electrical Energy
The things we want to do with electronic tools require energy in the form of electricity. Electricity is so important that in most contexts it is referred to as energy simply.
